This exhibition features more than seventy Buddhist works of art from the 5th through 9th centuries from the Xian Beilin Museum. Many works are exhibited for the first time outside of China. Among them are stone sculptures, stelae, gilt bronze and clay votive objects that have only been discovered in recent decades through archeological excavations and are paving new paths for scholarship in Buddhist art, including regional styles and religious practice.
